How To Get Started In Alabama
Alabama is one of those unusual states that do not require any specific licenses or training to get started as a Security Officer.
You just apply for a position as an Officer with a security company. Security companies who hire Officer trainees, however, will usually require the applicant to meet the following criteria:
Be at least 18 years of age;
No felonies or violent criminal convictions;
Must not have a disqualifying mental illness;
Must be physically fit for the position they are applying for;
A high school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent certificate.
Most Security Officer companies in the State of Alabama will require in-house training for new employees, but there are no special licenses or training required in order to apply.
Additional training is required in order to carry a firearm while on duty.
Good luck!
